The Psychiatry Journal Club and its subspecialty Journal Clubs (Addiction, Child & Adolescent, and Geriatric) occur year-round. The Journal Club schedules are as follows:


Psychiatry Journal Club
Monthly, 4th Wednesdays of each month, 5:00-6:30pm

Addiction Psychiatry Journal Club
Monthly, 1st Wednesday of each month, 5:00-6:00pm
UH Department of Psychiatry, Queen’s Medical Campus, UH Tower, 4th floor

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Journal Club
Monthly, 2nd Wednesday of the month, 10:30-11:30am

Geriatric Psychiatry Journal Club
Monthly, 4th Thursday of the month, 5:00-6:00pm
UH Department of Psychiatry, Queen’s Medical Campus, UH Tower, 4th floor

Focus areas include: fundamentals in preparing for Journal Club, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, consultation liaison, public psychiatry, child psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, culture, ethnicity, and general psychiatry. This is a CME activity and community physicians are welcome to attend. Journal Club is mandatory for our Psychiatry Program residents. Residents engage in critical discussion, review and analysis of faculty selected articles in the current literature.

The Hawaii Consortium for Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
