Hawaii Residency Programs administers 10 ACGME-accredited residency training programs and 8 post-residency fellowships under the academic auspices of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. Residency/Fellowship offices and practice locations are located at the various health care delivery facilities that support residency and fellowship training. Each incoming resident is required to undergo drug and alcohol testing at one of the program’s participating hospitals PRIOR TO the resident’s first day of employment. Resident will be required to comply with all testing and pre-employment procedures as well as sign appropriate consent forms. Positive results for alcohol or inappropriate drug use, or failure to comply with stated procedures, may result in residency/fellowship employment termination.
